Summary

Dynamic Physical Education Teacher with a proven track record at Mascoutah Elementary School, enhancing student wellness and engagement through innovative lesson planning and health education. Skilled in classroom management and relationship building, I've significantly improved student participation and physical fitness levels. My approach integrates athletic coaching with comprehensive health education, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

My teaching career at Mascoutah Elementary School was one of the best experiences of my teaching career. I created and implemented activities that challenged students, encouraged confidence and team building.

I also taught classes of adaptive physical education. These classes met the physical, social, and emotional growth and development of our special persons population. I also created a group of regular education students called Play Pals to partner with our adaptive students. Play Pals made lasting connections of support and friendship with many special students that are active to this day. My administrators and colleagues supported my efforts. I feel I legitimized a subject area that many times is overlooked as a valued class.
