Accomplishments

Moffitt Cancer Center Undergraduate Research Assistant - Tampa, FL 2010-2012

o Learned the basics of mathematical modeling using the program MATLAB, including algorithm development, data analysis, numerical computation, and visualization.

o Developed a homeostatic model of normal immune system dynamics that would be used to investigate possible mechanisms by which large granular lymphocyte leukemia patients acquire T-cell subpopulation imbalance

o Advisor: Dr. Alexander Anderson, PhD – Integrated Mathematical Oncology, MCC Moffitt Cancer Center


Project L.I.N.K. - Tampa, FL 2010-2012

o Project L.I.N.K. (Leaders in New Knowledge) is a competitive paid training program made to establish undergraduate research experience for underrepresented students in cancer-related research. Attendance at educational/scientific lectures, monthly meetings, and community outreach projects is a requirement.
