Get copies of there Driver's and insurance cards,
have the patient take the copy of the cards to the specialty secretary or put them in a folder as directed . This may include releases they have signed.
Direct them to the setting area
Inform the Secretary for each group
of the patients arrival.
I set up the exam rooms before each group arrives, making sure everything is stocked and clean. I make sure the exam room is ready to be cleaned after the Specialty group has left.
I make up calender every month showing which provider is scheduled and what day they are coming in. I send copies to everyone who is connected with the providers. I keep track of how many patients each provider had and sent a copy to every department connected with the providers who came at the end of each month.
I help the patients get appointments made and connect them to the providers staff as needed.
Greeting people at the entrance to the hospital Emergency entrance or the front lobby.
Ask the screening questions and make sure they have masks and temperatures taken.
Make sure they keep social distance
Limit the number of people in the lobby
Clean area, chairs, wheelchairs, pens etc.
Assist nurses who are covid testing by keeping track of the people who are scheduled and delivering samples to the lab.
Kept track of Special Equipment use and making sure billing and reordering was maintained.
Proofread Physicians orders and correct them by contacting him and his staff to answer questions before computer documentation was completed.
Made sure transfer and admission orders were in place to insure proper care of the patient.
Before we went to Epic software I made sure transfer information was obtained and available for EMS to take with the receiving Medical facility
Connected transferring physicians with Hospitalists and specialists receiving at the facility that was accepting the patient.
Used Meditec to input the physicians orders.
Made sure equipment issues were resolved by the proper company or department.
