I am applying for Health Team Liaison on your September 2025 Semester at Sea Voyage.

I am familiar with the Semester At Sea medical team responsibilities because I was a Physician Assistant on board the 2005 summer voyage. Dr Rich Wald and I were the health care providers to the students, and senior passengers.

In addition to patient care, I worked in coordination with mental health providers, Resident Counselors, faculty, and crew. In this position I provided both day and night coverage.

Physician Assistant with extensive experience at Virginia Mason Hospital, excelling in patient management and diagnostic testing. Proven ability to enhance patient satisfaction through empathetic communication and effective treatment planning. Skilled in chronic disease management and telemedicine, consistently collaborating with healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Prior to my 24 year employment at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Internal Medicine, Gerontology (six years), Emergency Medicine (18 years), I was employed 1983-85 at University of North Carolina as an Associate Professor in the Medical Residency Program. Prior to that 1981-83 I was employed at Philadelphia Geriatric Center. Prior to that 1975-81 I was employed as a Hospitalist in North Charles General Hospital, Baltimore MD.
