Contract position providing physical exams for all new admissions to the hospital. In addition, I provide medical consults for patients under the care of the psychiatrists. This includes but not limited to diabetes management, hypertension, cardiac disease, seizure disorders, lung disease, typical illnesses such as URI's, UTI's, wound care and injury management. In addition, I consult with patients with chemical dependency including those withdrawing from opioids and alcohol and prescribing buprenorphine when appropriate.

Worked in busy family practice clinic seeing 20-25 patients daily. I had my own patient panel and evaluated, managed and treated patients ranging in age from newborn to geriatric.  I performed physical exams, obtained histories, charted on an EMR system, ordered and reviewed labs, X-rays, CT scans, MRI's, and ultrasounds for my patients.  Communicated effectively and efficiently with patients regarding diagnoses and treatment plans.  Managed smooth and effective communication among physicians, patients, families and staff.

Worked in busy Urgent Care clinic seeing all ages of patients with a variety of illnesses and injuries.  Performed minor procedures including incision and drainage of abscesses, suture repairs, removal of foreign bodies, and fracture treatment.  Ordered and interpreted labs and X-rays.  Often worked as the solo provider along with a medical assistant to provide medical services in urgent situations and life threatening situations such as heart attacks, STEMI's, pulmonary embolisms, ketoacidosis amongst a few, and coordinated higher level of care between the urgent care and ER.

Full time Physician Assistant for a Level 1 and Level 2 Trauma Center in Portland, Or.  Worked in the Fast Track seeing patients of all ages with  uncomplicated d to complicated illnesses and injuries.  Worked closely with ER and Trauma physicians to provide quality and efficient care.  Coordinated treatment with speciality physicians within the community.  Ordered and interpreted labs, EKG's and X-rays in order to diagnose and treat patients.  Was the chief PA for 2 years during which time I managed the Fast Track, developed procedures and protocols, supervised Fast Track PA's, and ensured quality care was being provided.  Performed minor procedures including incision and drainage of abscesses, suture repairs, treating/splinting of orthopedic injuries, intubations under supervision of the ER physician, joint injections.

Part-time faculty member with the OHSU PA program.  Instructed classes, managed the mentorship program, and was a student advisor.

Had a full panel of patients ranging from newborn to the elderly, evaluated and treated all areas of medical problems.  Coordinated care and referred patients to the appropriate specialist when appropriate.  Ordered and interpreted labs and radiology tests such as X-rays, CT scans, ultrasounds, MRI's.  Performed physical exams, problem oriented exams and follow up care.  Prescribed medications when appropriate.  Worked closely with my supervising physician staffing more complicated patients.
