Summary

Throughout my years in education, I have come across one philosophy when it comes to educating, and that is “family.” To educate, there must be a sense of family, a sense of belonging, and a sense of willingness from each side, teacher/student/parent. There must be that “trust,” that a family setting just comes by naturally; If you start with that as your base, all learning will just come naturally. I believe every child has their own learning style, and it’s up to us, as educators, to tap into that learning style in each and every child. I have been in the education field for 18 years; starting as an Afterschool teacher, then a first grade & Pre-Kinder teacher, to now as a Director of a private learning center. I also run an extensive children’s program and youth program at my church. The following are the basic duties I hold as the leader, administrator, and Director of a childcare and learning center setting: Team work among a staff of 9-12 Curriculum State requirements Safety among children and adults Financial bookkeeping Fundraising Increased Enrollment Parent/Staff/Administrator relations Networking Upholding the company philosophy In-house training CPR/First Aid Attend workshops to achieve clock hours required by the state I have achieved a Bachelor Degree, and I am always willing and wanting to better my knowledge in the education field as times change; I am currently looking into the steps needed to obtain a master level degree. I am a hard working individual. I am motivated by work that is of interest and the determination to reach my goal. I enjoy working with and meeting new people. I am enjoyable to work with, as I have an outgoing and positive personality. I have been a participant in many Committees’, and being the Coordinator of the Children and Youth at church has allowed me to be experienced in planning, facilitating, and budgeting. As Director of a school, I have firsthand knowledge in organization, prioritizing, and handling multiple tasks with little or no supervision. Open and positive communicator with calm and level-headed approach to managing routine needs and meeting special challenges.
