Perform specialized technical work associated with analyzing, designing, developing, installing, repairing, fabricating, maintaining, modifying, or evaluating the most complex systems for which the FAA is responsible.
Manage drafting request packages utilizing the FAA’s Drafting Tracker Software.
Review drafting package submissions and estimate number of hours to complete. Request approval from Drafting Work release point of contact (POC) for hour estimates before work can commence.
Regularly updating engineers of drafting
status. Coordinate workload with other regions in CSA as needed.
Support maintenance, population, correction and workflow of the master drawing database
data and associated electronic files through the ProjectWise interface.
Manage drawing numbering requests and annotate drawings as “obsolete” when instructed or when otherwise appropriate.
Ensure quality control standards are adhered to for all products in and out of drafting.
Provide drafting work packages to contracting drafting lead for work assignment.
Ensure drafting work gets completed by Date Promised; otherwise, directs work to other drafters as needed.
Return completed drafting work to engineers and closes out drafting packages. Work with various Engineering Services platforms to clear as-built exceptions.
Ensure drawings get signed by engineers and managers and uploaded into ProjectWise.
Plan and organize work to accomplish organizational objectives. Technical manuals, manufacturers’ instructions, FAA policies and procedures, and other publications provide guidance for some assignments. In many cases, guidance is inadequate or incomplete, requiring the technician to develop solutions.
Use leadership to engage coworkers in joining office events and team building.
