Summary

I am currently a Corn Breeding Scientist, responsible for developing hybrids for South African market. I hold a Master's degree in Plant Breeding and a certificate in Project Management. I have over 10 years of experience in the field of plant breeding, particularly maize. I have worked for the biggest seed companies in the world, thus, I have been exposed to the newest technology in the field of agriculture. I am very passionate about plant breeding and it is my dream to be part of a team that brings solutions to the world of agriculture. More so, doing this in the most sustainable way to protect the future generation. In addition to my role, I lead a successful community initiative in Corteva in the Africa region, this initiatives play an important role in making a difference in the community and affording the company freedom to operate.

In my role, I focus on developing inbred and hybrid varieties tailored for the South African market. Our primary aim is to produce varieties that can thrive under the challenging conditions caused by diseases, destructive pests, and drought. To achieve this, we leverage advanced technologies such as Predictive Analytical Tools, R studio, GPS planters, drones, ear photometry, and molecular breeding applications.
