Manages six patients on a medical surgical unit. Implements various nursing skills such as administering IV medications, blood transfusions, heparin drips, and many other preparations. Collaborates with various medical personnel. Prepares patients for medical procedures such as heart catheterization, surgery, and wound debridements. Makes sure charts have consents for procedures, discharge papers, and any other pertinent information. Creates an atmosphere for the patient and family to be herd and feel understood.

Experience with admitting patients gathering medical records from previous facilities, reconciling medications with doctors, writing telephone orders, and coordinating with pharmacy for updates in in mar. Monitoring for changes in patients behaviors notifying doctors of improvement or worsening for adjustments in medication. Drawing labs to monitor drug levels for effective therapeutic results. Initiating prn IM mediations for patients requiring immediate intervention. Collaborating with social workers, doctors, behavioral therapist, and families to promote long term goals for patients.

Managed a number of patients working with doctors, implementing orders, collaborating with various services such as physical therapy, laboratories, radiology, psychiatry, any many other medical services to care for patients in long term care. Communicated with families regarding changes in conditions and medication approvals from responsible parties. Experience in working with patients who have rapidly changing conditions such as aspiration and implementing life saving nursing interventions. Many skills utilized in this field.

Has ability to apply critical assessments and collaborate with doctors to quickly administer treatments such as quick IM injections for anaphylactic reactions, breathing treatments for asthma, and many other interventions. Assisted doctors with minor surgical procedures, assisted devices, splinting, and gynecological assessments. Completed exams such as vision, hearing and is DOT certified for Department of Transportation. Experienced with blood draws, EKG's, laboratory analysis, and other diagnostic procedures.
