• Conduct nutrition assessments and reassessments for 80+ neonates in the level IV neonatal intensive care unit, including surgical, ECMO, and ELBW infants.

• Follow and assess NICU graduates in outpatient special care clinic, with emphasis on appropriate growth and family teaching/education.

• Implement department and unit wide protocols relevant to NICU, including neonatal malnutrition guidelines and project HOME breast milk initiatives.

• Train and educate medical workers on the nutritional needs of neonates in Kwahu region of Ghana, with emphasis on reducing infant mortality and decreasing pediatric malnutrition.

• Perform needs assessments of NICU, pediatric wards, and rural health clinics for necessary education and resources.

• Participated in daily interdisciplinary rounds with resident team, which includes TPN order writing, enteral feeding management, tracking growth and supplementation.

• Research associate for NICU THRIVE project, with emphasis on targeting breast milk fortification based on breast milk analysis.

• Created and developed education materials and presentations for medical residents and fellows on neonatal nutrition.

• Led donor breast milk program, which included ordering/procuring donor milk, ensuring safe handling, policy creation, and nursing education.

• Managed nutrition assessments and reassessments for 60+ neonates in the level IV neonatal intensive care unit.

• Supervised, maintained competencies, and trained all formula technicians, while developing recipes and protocols for breast milk/formula storage in formula room.

• Researched and implemented system wide feeding protocols/QI projects and trained physicians/staff on indications of use.

• Implemented Farm to YOU!th fruit and vegetable program to 1,200 elementary school children in Calhoun County, MS.

• Coded and analyzed all data from program surveys, pre- and post-intervention, to assess for program effectiveness.
