  • Perform some tasks on my own while being observed by the veterinary technician such as expressing anal glands, feeding the animals, transferring the animals to different rooms within the hospital, and making sure the laundry was clean.
  • Assisted in restraining animals during vaccine administrations or other operations such as ultra sounds and anesthesia prep.
  • Ensured that the animals had proper post operations care by wrapping them in warming packs, staying by their side, and helping rub them awake.
  • Learned about different medications and prescriptions.
  • Assisted in prepping the correct surgical instruments based on what type of surgery the veterinarian was about to preform.
  • Clipped toenails, shaved certain parts of the animal, and put lubricant in the animals eyes in preparation for surgery.
