- In the Post Anesthesia Care Unit at MercyOne we care for an average of 20-25 post surgical patients each day receiving care under a large variety of specialties. In this position I provide immediate post surgical care for patients in the critical recovery window including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, protecting the patients airway, and using my critical thinking skills to create the safest outcome and recovery for patients.
