I am a recent high school graduate with a grade point average 3.2. I completed my studies with honors and received a scholarship that allows me to defer college for 1 year in order to gain work experience. I am delighted to have this unique opportunity to grow and prepare for my future,
During my sophomore year in high school I was unfortunately targeted in an interpersonal situation that involved bullying. After careful consideration my mother and I decided that a transfer to Louisiana Virtual Academy offered a path forward with the ultimate goal of not allowing my education to be put at risk. Although the transfer delayed my graduation by 1 year, I excelled academically and received a TOPPS scholarship. I am grateful that the scholarship encourages work experience because I believe it will create opportunities for me to develop additional life skills that will better prepare me for college studies and beyond.
