I'm a 2nd year in Chemical Engineering program. I was born and raised in Pakistan, I've been in the United States for almost 10 years now. with all given setbacks in my education or work, I've always excelled and given it my best. My last employer and I mutually parted ways because of complications but they were very pleased and happy with my performance. I'm dedicated and passionate about the position and tasks I am handed, always trying to perform my best.
My position at New-Indy benefited my future because I explored a different aspect of engineering. With Process Control, I was dealing with DCS, QCS, PLC's, and their network structure. my first and longest project was a 5S project with organizing, creating, and managing network infrastructure. I was in direct touch with the third party, ABB who's equipment and programming we were using. I created a detailed layout of the entire network in the paper mill. Alongside I got to program in the DCS with the Masterpiece and 800M controllers. I worked on some major projects such as upgrading controllers and changing the drives system. the most recent project I was working on was to change a refiner. I Provided responsive technical support to plant personnel experiencing difficulties with control systems or related equipment as needed. Collaborated with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions for control system improvements.
Cal Poly is one of the 11 Polytechnic universities in the States, also the only Student based team partaking in Rose Parade watched by millions. I was part of the general construction and Electrical team. Me and my team constructed a new system to power the mechanics which are displayed on the float, I was able to gain experience with arduinos and working with circuits. I learned valuable skills being in that environment working with nearly a 100 people, it helped me grow communicational and leadership skills.
