Promotional Artwork Engineering

As you launch the Netflix app on any device, you are greeted with an extensive gallery of images that make you want to watch a title. I led team that powers that gallery.

• Developed tool suite that is used by tens of 1000s of internal users and external vendors to curate, fulfill and distribute millions of images on and off Netflix service
• With product, design and data as first team, created innovative solutions that empower creative producers to do story telling through images, to global audience with local touch. Used computer vision and machine learning to scale offerings.
• Managed ecosystem that enabled stakeholders leading product, marketing, games, and other newer strategic initiatives to best promote titles through compelling artwork on various outlets
• Created data pipelines that facilitate image scheduling and personalization.

Product Creative Engineering

The full-stack team of 12+ senior engineers and tech leads built services and data models to facilitate artwork and trailer distribution on Netflix service and support consumer product innovation.

• Re-architected solutions that originally were conceived for Netflix as distributor to those that serve Netflix as world's first truly global studio.
• Developed tools for consumer product A/B testing on different content strategies.
• Developed solutions that enabled operations and creative teams to be more effective at story telling through high quality artwork and trailers to large, diverse user base using myriad of campaign methods.
• Created tools for AI assisted (computer vision and audio processing) video editing, incorporating complex subtitling workflows.

As one of the founding members of the group, helped the team grow at a fast pace by wearing multiple hats to help in all aspects of the growth phase. Developed solutions that would see Netflix going global, localize in tens of languages and jump into producing content of their own.

• Led migration of legacy tools from data center to newer cloud based versions while continuing to support global expansion.
• Created data pipelines for reliable and consistent replication from data center based monoliths to cloud based microservices.
• Developed systems for rights management, metadata management, asset ordering, ingestion, distribution and scheduling for 1000s of titles.
• Developed asset management platform to host and transform millions of assets.
• Developed identity, logging, notification, SSO and other platform services for studio applications.
• Drove architecture of workflow orchestrating engine that would later be open sourced as Netflix Conductor.
• Developed continuous delivery solution that supported feature sandboxes spanning multiple services.
• Developed Content Preview - product that allowed creators and publicists to watch pre-release content with full Netflix experience on all consumer devices.

Consumer messaging group provides chat/email/conversations/social messaging solutions used on Nokia's S40, Symbian and Meego platforms. Includes connected contacts (people hub) that allows object sharing and messaging directly from the address book, integration to third party social networks (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.), events and calendars, and other mobile applications

• Lead for Social Messaging Platform that was used to power mobile experiences like Social Phonebook, Social Network Aggregators, etc.
• Developed Gateway and Plugin based architecture that accelerated addition of social networks to social phonebook.

WAN acceleration reduces amount of traffic sent across a WAN and delivers information locally whenever possible. Silver Peak Systems is a leader in Data Center class WAN optimization, serving enterprises in improving performance and reliability of disaster recovery, application performance across a WAN, facilitate data center consolidation.

• Developed Global Management System (GMS). GMS was deployed as part of WAN acceleration solution, and provided configuration, fault and performance monitoring reports provided by GMS helped in network and capacity planning, auditing, troubleshooting, ROI analysis.
