I work for Host Healthcare as a travel nurse. I currently am working at Carle Foundation Hospital on 4 north tower; ortho unit. I have been working there since Janurary 2, 2024.
I owe this job so much for all my nursing experiences and happy memories I have working there. I worked on a 22-bed telemetry unit. I am skilled at reading telemetry strips, cardiac drips and medication protocol's. There were many admissions post cath lab and it was my job to educate patients on what to expect and to answer their questions. I monitored their vital signs and kept them on bedrest to ensure their safety. I was certified to pull sheaths post cath lab if a patient still had them and it was ordered according to their ACT. The patients I cared for had procedures like stent placement in hearth or lower extremities. Post TAVR, post pacemaker, and a. fib ablation.
I would provide health assessment for my patient. I provided urinary catheter care and bathing. I used hoyer lift for my patient who drove a power wheelchair. As well as drive him to appointments and on errands in his van.
As a LPN I worked at a skilled nursing and rehab, assisted living and home health I gained much knowledge about patient diagnoses and how to care for each patients safety and needs
