Volunteer Work

I volunteered for three years in the Avery County GAL program, including a semester internship. Helping Children from abused and neglected homes have a voice in the justice system. I attended court hearings and was deeply involved in family meetings. I made house calls to observe current placements of the children to maintain a safe and stable home environment. I was able to work side by side with social services, the court system, and the police department.
