Reliable and hardworking para educator with almost 3 years of experience in the mental health field, working with a wide age range of young adults with varying developmental disabilities and emotional difficulties. As a para educator, is continuously participating in professional development and furthering my education in the field.
My primary responsibility as a para educator is providing daily support to my assigned student while they make progress academically, as well as socially and emotionally. Some of my other responsibilities include monitoring and accurately documenting student behavior, modeling socially appropriate behavior and interactions, and working as a positive team member to support the other staff around me. During my time at Ashuelot Valley Academy, I have been involved in the Wellness committee, become a member of the Green Team, and gotten my certification to be a lifeguard for the school.
My primary responsibility was walking the sales floor making displays look appealing and answering customer questions. My other responsibilities included stocking and loading, as well as filling in anywhere I was needed around the store.
I worked alongside young adults with disabilities, helping them transition smoothly into different work environments. The goal of my job was to enable them with the skills they needed to perform their jobs independently as well as teaching social skills that would allow them to be successful in their day-to-day lives.
I worked this job throughout high school and continued on through college during my semester breaks. During my time, I worked my way from cashier to sandwich and pizza chef; preparing and serving almost all available food items. I was also responsible for training new employees and some other management-like tasks, however, there was no manager role in this establishment.
