I have been working in various roles since the age of 14, consistently gravitating toward positions that involve working with children. While I am capable of managing groups, I’ve often received positive feedback from parents about my ability to connect with young boys in one-on-one settings. I have experience working with siblings who have ADHD, as well as children with disabilities. Additionally, my background in the restaurant industry has exposed me to high-stress situations, where I’ve developed strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills. Combined with my well-traveled background and adaptability, I believe these qualities would be highly beneficial in the field of social work, where empathy, composure, and patience is essential.
While attending Westport Middle School, I assisted my school counselor in supporting students with special needs. As a member of the Montessori program and the golf club, my counselor recognized my leadership qualities and invited me to work with the “Doves” class, a program dedicated to students with special needs. This experience allowed me to develop greater empathy, patience, and communication skills while contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
