Tai Tarantino

Multifaceted person with skills in sales, being part of a team, and managing responsibilities. Experience in sales, volunteering, and session work, and with multiple groups, has led to being asked to return after working with them. Will be an asset to anyone seeking a team player and a people person, who will, without a doubt, excel in any environment, new or old.

Camp Sunrise, Camp Counselor, Smith Middle School, 2023-07, 2023-07, Grade 11, 49 Hrs/Week, Total Hours: 98. Summer program, volunteered for 2 weeks. Program followed caring for camp children, each of whom had a disability of some sort.

Jun 2024 - Jun 2024: School Excursion to China; Cooperated with local Shandong government to take a school-affiliated trip to China in which I practiced my Chinese skills, met a variety of people and exchanged culture.

Sep 2023 - May 2024: National Language Honors Society; Entered under Chinese language. Involved community hours utilizing language skills to tutor and support the community. 

Jun 2023 - Jun 2024: Startalk; Summer program to practice and refine Chinese ability. Involved many activities and continued into the school year afterward. 

Dec 2022 - Oct 2023: Asian Culture Club; Membership involved various cultural social activities. 

2022-2024: Performed in 3 Theatre productions each year affiliated with Glastonbury Public Schools and Youth & Family Services, playing in the musical orchestra pit.

2022-2024: Participation in multiple clubs related to music - Jazz Band, Youth Orchestras, Marching Band (including a performance in the Memorial Day town parade), and  ensemble band performance at the Hartford Convention Center. In these groups I played a variety of instruments, ranging from viola, violin, electric and double bass, snare, timpani, bass drum, and cello.

Present: Currently fronting a local band in which we go around performing at paid events across the state on a 3 times / month basis.

• Luthiery - Longterm hobbies and projects of mine, involving building of, and fixing of guitars and basses. With just over a dozen guitars I've taken in, I've turned a profit on every sale.
• Proficient speaker of Chinese language, learned while living in Singapore.

Proficiency in a multitude of musical instruments - orchestral string instruments such as violin, viola, double bass, and cello; electric guitar and bass; ensemble percussion such as timpani, snare and bass drum, and a traditional drum kit; as well as ownership/experience playing rarer instruments such as a mandolin, omnichord, congas, and organ.
