  • My job was to communicate with different departments or employees monthly regarding safety training for the month, staff injuries, inmate injuries, and effective communication regarding any training.
  • I would also oversee staff and inmate injuries on the job by documenting them and reporting them to my supervisor at the Region III Office.
  • Every month, I would escort Free World Pest Control around the unit to spray inmate living areas and departments for insects.
  • I would oversee the sign-off on fire extinguishers, fire hoses, and eyewash stations to make sure they were in compliance with our policy.
  • I would also conduct monthly inspections for every department in the unit every month.
  • I would do this to make sure all departments that have deficiencies are reported on properly, and that the Maintenance division is aware of it.
  • I would conduct audits at different units in our assigned region to verify that everything is in compliance.
  • I would then use these audit findings on my unit to ensure we were in compliance when we received an audit report.

  • I learned here about the types of pods they had, and for what medical or mental disorders. Impulse control, organic, partial mood disorders, or high security.
  • I learned here that mainly therapists would request whatever inmate needed to move for whatever reason, and before they would, they would be medically evaluated and checked to see if they had any current emotions, and such.
  • I would communicate thoroughly with mainly the therapists and my supervisors because I oversaw moving inmates from housing areas based on their mental status.
  • I would make sure all inmates were in compliance with one another whenever they were housed. I would make sure the count was accurate at all times, and to report my numbers to my supervisor and the leading therapist.
  • I would also run the UCC (Unit Classification Committee) with both wardens, and inform inmates what they’re being seen for and why they are on our unit.
  • I would also see them for OPI (Offender Protection Investigation) to gain some insight into why they filed for their lives being in danger, and to determine the outcome of the investigation with my team.
  • I assist inmate records with her filing, answer the switchboard, ship out files to different units, assist with family phone calls, and schedule visits.

  • I was trained to understand HS18 Forms, which are basically medical forms used to verify an inmate's housing status and restrictions when it comes to work for the inmates and the jobs they do in the field, maintenance, etc.
  • I was then assigned to change jobs within different departments, such as laundry or the kitchen.
  • Whenever I needed to, I would also lay inmates in for whatever reason, whenever it came to UCC, visitation, or anything anyone needed.
  • I would assist in scheduling visitation for the tablet visits and for the in-person visits, while maintaining 100% communication with the duty wardens.
  • I was trained on how to prepare UCC forms, create dockets, pull folders, and fill them out accordingly.
  • I then oversaw making moves and housing inmates accordingly, per policy and per housing scheme.
  • I oversaw scheduling and helping different counties with their bench warrants, and I would oversee issuing them.
