basketball

In addition to playing four years of basketball for my high school team, I was the caption one year of junior basketball during my freshman year, one year of co-captaincy during my sophomore year, and two years as the head caption during my junior and senior years. As you attempt to establish your reputation as a leader on and off the basketball court, the most important thing you must keep in mind is to lead by example. You must constantly consider how your coaches, teachers, classmates, and teammates see you and whether your behavior is consistent with your words. Since there would be no one to lead without others, relationships with others are at the top of the list for leaders. It's crucial that you make an effort to establish a good relationship with everyone you meet with on a daily basis, whether it be with authority figures like your basketball coaches and teachers or your fellow classmates and teammates. The most effective leaders are well aware of their flaws. It's all in your perspective, but a great leader will use that weakness as strength rather than dwelling on those weaknesses to the point of self-defeat.
