Accomplishments

(Aug. 2023) Completion of 93 volunteer hours was done at Milton Cato Memorial Hospital in St. Vincent and the Grenadines during a study abroad program with CGTC. During this time, I was given the opportunity to work alongside their healthcare professionals and be hands-on with patients and providing care for them. While there, I rounded through the Pediatric unit, the NNICU, and the ER. I started IV's, monitored vital signs, used sterile technique when inserting a foley catheter, transported patients to different areas of the hospital, took an emergency call and was allowed to ride on their ambulance to assist in bringing the patient back to the facility, administered medications under the supervision of my assigned nurse, and overall learned so much about how much we take for granted everyday as members of a profitable society.
