Hello, my name is Talor Bank and I would like to think of myself as the elderly whisperer ( as in "The Horse Whisperer"). I have a gift for more than just elder care, I have a gift for understanding my clients unique needs, through their stories; their past stories and their present existence. My goal with each client is to ease their suffering and return their joy. As a gay male, I would like to think that I might have a better understanding our elderly LGBTQ population, although my journey has probably been a little easier being gay today, as compared to 20, 30, 40 or 50 years ago.
How did I come into the realization that elder care is where I belong? I was helping my family navigate the complex world of "what should we do about Goey?" ( a loving term I coined for my grandmother as a young child) when I thought, "Why don't I become her caregiver?" Hence, my path ahead was formed.
