I am a full time resident at UNC Hospitals currently. Doing both inpatient and outpatient medicine. Rotating both at Main UNC Hospital and Community hospitals affiliated with UNC.

• While here at Duke, the purpose of my visitation is to conduct basic and translational research on the role of the TGF-beta signaling pathway in solid cancers, and in doing so, gain an understanding of planning and conducting experiments, troubleshooting experiments, analyzing data, and presenting my work in a written and oral format. I also became a member of the Journal Club, where we do presentations based on already published articles.

• Performed PCR tests across Tbilisi. Ensured that every patient would get tested according to rules of safety and protection. I would also make sure that their test results were delivered on time.

• Physeo website is designed for medical students to improve their performance both at school and on board exams. I participated in errata editing and creating suggestions for medical books in different subjects. I also created presentations about various medical topics, based on which videos were recorded. • As an acting intern at the cancer center, I start my day with pre-rounding, talking to nurses, patients, family members collecting all the questions that the team should answer during rounding along organizing the patient presentations, and developing a diagnostic and therapeutic treatment plan. I also conduct independent history taking, physical examination of the patient and help out the team to put the information into the electronic system. During this internship, one of the main things I realized is how big of important palliative care has not only for patient care but also for the wellbeing of caregivers. I also figured that not all aspects of palliative care are accessible right away. Obviously, it depends on the country and payment options, but on our hands as physicians, what we can do is to have more teaching sessions that will increase the educational level about palliative care skills. This will in turn increase public education about its accessibility.
  
  

• Project title: "Stop Smoking, Start Running!" Merely counseling people to quit is less effective, as is encouraging them to take up an activity that is cheap, effective, and greatly improves cardiovascular health as running does. In this project, we wanted to emphasize how running can influence smoking habits and vice versa, and finally how both quitting smoking and starting running can prolong life. On May 31 which is “World no tobacco day,” we did a running marathon

• Took primary responsibility for the care of 3-4 patients daily. Responsibilities included: -taking histories , writing daily progress notes, formulating assessments and plans, presenting patients to the attending physician, communicating the plan for the day with the patients, writing hospital course and discharge recommendations The rotation was conducted under COVID-19 regulations.

I was awarded a scholarship from Emory University School of Medicine for an advanced heart failure acting internship. I took primary responsibility for the care of 3-4 patients daily on advanced heart failure floors at Emory University Hospital without PGY-1 supervision. I've received training in hospital management of advanced heart failure, pre- and post-transplant evaluation and therapy, cardiac exercise testing, and VAD selection. Also, I had an opportunity to do teaching during afternoon conferences. Responsibilities included: - taking histories and performing physical examinations , writing admission notes , formulating assessments and plans, writing daily progress notes, presenting patients to the attending physicians, presenting patients on multidisciplinary rounds,communicating the plan for the day with the patients, placing orders, communicating with the consulting services - writing hospital course and discharge recommendations

• With the help of my team at medical school, we organized the project to increase awareness about the importance of HPV vaccination among children and adults. First, we wanted to find out about the statistics of HPV vaccination, so we created a survey for doctors and deliver it to multiple clinics in Tbilisi. It turned out that, most of the time, parents are the ones opposing the vaccination of their kids with the HPV vaccine. After analyzing the data, we decided to create an information booklet that would be easier to understand for the patient without medical knowledge, and we sent this to the doctors to see how more educational intervention could change the opinion of the parents and the statistics. Booklets included information about the indicated age range for the vaccination, recommended doses, and how effective the vaccine is to prevent cancer, and how they work. In addition, we gave information about safety and how the vaccinated population can decreased HPV cases in unvaccinated ones.

• I was awarded a scholarship from Harvard Medical School and a clerkship director Dr. Eldrin Foster Lewis. Learned total management of cardiac patients, from initial diagnostic evaluation through the process of management decision leading to the culmination in either medical or surgical therapy. Took primary responsibility for the care of 3-4 patients daily on the general cardiology floor at BWH without PGY-1 supervision. Participated in weekly conferences and didactic lectures; attended biopsies and stenting procedures. • The study "Biomarkers Of Inborn Errors Of Metabolism" is initiated by Prof. Arndt Rolfs, a chief medical director of Centogene laboratory in Germany. This is international. a multicenter, observational, and longitudinal study. We identified and monitored markers of inborn errors of metabolism. Some of them were prognostic, some were predictive. We saw patients with genetic diseases, took histories, performed a physical exam, observation, inspection, blood drawings from parents, children, and entered information in the portal. In Georgia, the collection of information about diseases and contacting patients was started months before the actual study start date.

• Responsibilities: Assisted surgeons in urology and gynecology departments. Assisted patients in post-operative rehabilitation. Assisted nurses in the critical care unit

• I helped students to get prepared for the exam by creating USMLE-type clinical scenarios, discussing and explaining complex integrated cases, and providing timed exams at the end of each month.
