Responsibilities included bringing the Breach Inlet Project into full alignment with Ahtna’s Safety, Health & Environmental (SH&E) standards and ensuring consistency across all field operations. I ensured compliance with EM 385‑1‑1 and the Breach Inlet Accident Prevention Plan (APP); developed and reviewed scope‑specific work plans and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs); conducted workplace inspections and walk‑downs with USACE representatives to verify progress, identify hazards, and maintain regulatory compliance; conducted monthly required training sessions (man overboard) etc., and site orientations for new hires/contractors. I also created the AMCC training curriculum—initial and refresher courses now near completion—and served as interim project manager when the acting project manager was offsite.

Responsible for overseeing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) operations across designated projects, worksites, and GRB coverage areas. My role includes identifying and managing risks and hazards, conducting incident reporting and investigations, and utilizing Loss Prevention System (LPS) tools to promote a proactive safety culture. I develop and implement site-specific safety, environmental, and emergency action plans tailored to each project’s unique needs. I also deliver HSE training to field personnel, conduct regular inspections and audits, and ensure compliance with the (SSSP), SA-38, and all applicable policies, codes, and regulations. In addition, for the 2025 project season, I served as the Interim Site Supervisor for Ahtna Construction, managing field operations for Mainline Integrity Digs on the Trans Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS), ensuring safety and operational excellence throughout the life of the project.

Duties include collaborating with management to develop/implement safety trainings, programs, procedures, and guidelines enterprise wide. Scope includes the development/implementation of leading indicator tools to prevent loss incidents, conducting risk assessments/hazard analysis to identify potential and implementing corrective actions and managing incident investigations and providing guidance on root causes & preventative actions. The team also works to integrate SHE practices into daily operations and project planning, as well as monitoring/reporting on SHE performance metrics, driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities included the oversight of all aspects of field safety, including incident investigations and monitoring workers and subcontractors on-site to ensure compliance with health and safety procedures and protocols. My responsibilities include conducting daily safety meetings with crews, inspecting job sites, tools, and equipment to identify hazards and implementing work practices to eliminate or mitigate safety concerns. Additionally, I conduct new hire training on policies and standards set by TCC, Alyeska Pipeline, and OSHA.

I conducted booming operations for tankers at Valdez Marine Terminal. I was responsible for preventive maintenance and pre-use inspections on response equipment, including response vessels and barges, boom deployment equipment, and recovery and storage units at VMT, SERVS Base, and throughout Prince William Sound. I also participated in annual fishing vessel training, initial response training, remote site training, GRS training, and heli-ops, utilizing various response tactics and practices.

I gained hands-on experience with job safety analysis, developing confined space entry plans and requirements, fire extinguisher inspection and maintenance requirements, and inventory for industrial hygiene safety equipment. My responsibilities included conducting inspections, incident investigation, analysis and reporting, and safety meetings. I was also responsible for reviewing various safety plans, including health, safety, and environmental plans, and site safety plans. Additionally, I studied and completed ICS classes 100, 200, 300, and 700a.

I developed hands-on experience in warehouse and field operations, which included equipment operations, preventative maintenance, and oil spill response techniques and tactics for onshore decontamination, recovery, and storage. I was involved in tracking and surveillance, wildlife, and sensitive area tactics. Additionally, I was briefed on various types of documentation, such as site assessment, confined space awareness policies, contingency plans, and safety procedures.
