Trash to Treasure; REpurposing skills

At the end of a school year, I decided to take a break from education and pursue the dream of opening my own business. It is a furniture flipping business in which I was able to use the profits from this and make necessary repairs to the house I lived in. I found this experience of working on furniture and repurposing it along with many other household items such as glass vases to birdbaths, very rewarding and gave me internal piece.  In the year of this business I taught myself techniques for painting, art, and construction of various materials to be very rewarding. I completed major repairs on the house I had in another state and sold the home in 3 days as a rather whimisical house and did so to move to South Carolina and become an educator once again. I often created projects over the summer months with my three children and taught these skills to them as well. I wanted to see my youngest child whom also had an IEP throughout his education, graduate from high school.

Once my three children were not receiving special education services any longer, I was able to pursue interests in becoming an art teacher, studing presently for the state art assessment as well as the general education middle school math test. Participating in these assessments and pursuing the goal to become an art teacher would replace the business I closed upon moving here to south carolina.
