  • This lead position exists for designing and administering the process for designating hospitals as qualified trauma facilities throughout Minnesota
  • This position establishes and oversees processes for hospitals to meet quality and resource standards that qualify them to participate in the state's trauma system, as well as to bill for trauma-team activations, should these designated hospitals so choose
  • Over 100 hospitals seek designation or re-designation as Level 3 or Level 4 trauma hospitals
  • All need initial technical assistance, self-review assistance and site visits as well as ongoing organizational assistance and periodic site visits
  • Many require on-going technical assistance and education with respect to performance improvement processes, identifying opportunities of improvement, identification and implementation of action plans to resolve identified issues
  • Responsibilities include: To establish and operate an application and site review process for hospitals seeking to be designated as trauma hospitals
  • This includes organizing and conducting hospital site visits and working with MD and RN team
  • Responsible for all report editing and processing of correspondence with hospitals
  • To provide or arrange technical assistance to hospitals as they establish the internal processes necessary for designation
  • This includes educating hospitals on performance improvement processes
  • To organize, train and oversee contract teams of trauma care professionals to provide site visits for hospitals seeking trauma designation
