I began working for The Medical Center at an early age. I started out in the business office but quickly transitioned to Home Care. I was the only "secretary" in the department at the time and due to unforeseen circumstances, did not receive full training. I took it upon myself to learn as much as possible about the department, how it functions, who needed what, etc. I organized the work, wrote out processes for everything and at the time, manually completed all tasks.
As our department began to grow, under new management, I was allowed to begin hiring office staff. I completely trained all of the office staff and we grew to a team of 7 employees under my supervision.
I have seen many changes within our industry over the years that I have been able to be a part of developing and I pride myself in that I have been an active part of this.
With many upcoming changes to our Home Care industry, the company feels the need to change our department office staff, many of which I do not agree with. I feel that it is time that I try to make some changes for myself to better utilize my skills and to become more involved with people and to be able to make an impact on someone outside of the healthcare industry.
Several training opportunities within the Home Care world. I have always gone above and beyond to learn more about everything Home Health care.
I love being out in nature. It is my way of removing myself and relaxing. It gives me time to slow down and enjoy the moment. These 3 activities, fishing, kayaking, and boating allows me this privilege with my family
