Catholic Medical Center has a 12 bed LDRP unit as well as a Special Care Nursery which cares for premature and sick babies with a gestational age of 30 weeks and above. CMC does about 1100 births a year. After a brief leave from CMC I returned inpatient labor and delivery. I care for patients of all gestational ages that require a stay on the labor and delivery unit as well as the postpartum stay. I am occasionally required to float to the Special Care Nursery to help care for the stable babies on that unit. Some of my responsibilities include.

After started as a Graduate nurse at CMRC I was fortunate enough to learn the administrative side of nursing. I was responsible for nurses and LNAs in a 64 bed rehab hospital which Included skilled and acute care. I worked with case management and an interdisciplinary team to determine if a patient was appropriate for admission, appropriate care plan and length of stay, and worked as utilization review to support decisions made. I also managed staffing to ensure appropriate ratios while staying within the budget. I attended safety and quality meetings. I left this position to gain more clinical skills in a hospital setting. While at CMRC some of my responsibilities included:
