

Tangela Q. Parker is a healthcare and external affairs executive with senior leadership experience at CVS Health, Centene, UnitedHealth Group, and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Her work includes public affairs, corporate reputation, communications, marketing, community engagement, and counsel to senior executives. She has particular expertise in Medicaid, Medicare, and healthcare programs serving complex populations.
Parker is also the founder of Unapologetically Mississippi, an editorial platform featuring Mississippians making their mark in business, culture, leadership, and community. Her connection to Mississippi also informs her writing on identity, ambition, resilience, and home.
She is the author of the children’s book Angel Learns to Be Brave, inspired by her Shih Tzu, Angel. Parker completed executive education at Harvard Business School, earned her degree in Political Science from Alcorn State University, and received the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award.
