
I have 18 years of total experience as a machinist and 15 years experience as a paper mill and industrial machinist / millwright. I have confidence that I can provide the skills and knowledge to work independently and with others to tackle about any job in my field of work. I strive to always have a positive attitude, be a team player, and avoid conflict with coworkers. Working safely is my number one goal, and am proud to say I have never had any injuries on the job due to unsafe behavior. I'm always willing and able to learn new things and work with others to solve problems and get the job done in the most efficient and safest way possible. I take pride in keeping a clean work area and looking for ways to help save the company money. Having a long term career that I can eventually retire from is a priority of mine. ● Responsible for machining and fabricating parts for daily paper mill operations. Operate lathes, milling machines, both manual and CNC conversational control, key seaters, floor presses, drill presses, plasma cutters, water jet tables, manual and track torches, welders, and various hand and power tools.
● Parts that we produce include but not limited to pump shafts, agitator shafts, bearing housings, various brackets, motor base plates, and a large variety of other parts for paper machines, powerhouse, mobile equipment, and pulping operations on planned and unplanned emergency situations.
● Follow lock out / tag out procedures per the mill and OSHA policies when working on any powered and piping equipment.
● Experience in rebuilding vertical turbine water pumps
● Experience in assisting millwrights on changing paper machine rolls, gearbox changes, pump changes, rigging, and other various industrial mechanical work on maintenance outage days.
● Reverse engineering and blueprint drawing and reading
● Responsible for ordering materials for each job and make sure materials are on hand for when they are needed in both planned and unplanned job situations.
● Responsible for making sure machined parts are available as spares and when they are in need by due dates.
● Work planned and unplanned overtime on a short term notice.
● Take extra pride in trying to save the company money by keeping as much work in house and looking at other parts that could be made in house rather than buying them from vendors.
● Completed corrective and predictive maintenance on industrial machinery to replace worn parts and prevent breakages.
● Performed routine maintenance on machinery, including lubrication, cleaning, inspection for worn parts that need replacement / repair.
