I have a total of 9 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and 2+ years of research in graduate school in an immunology lab at Rutgers.
I worked in Immunology space during my first job at Eli Lilly. I worked in biomarker discovery field, where contributed development of novel biomarker strategies and establish biomarker plans. I led the establishment of a unique biomarker platform and supported multiple indication by monitoring biomarker activities. I was involved in identifying CROs for certain projects, communicating with them regarding the protocols and validating their work to ensure high quality data.
In my current position in Immuno-oncology department at AbbVie Inc, I am involved in identifying and validating new targets, design crucial MOA experiments and develop novel assays for challenging and very novel targets. I supported multiple projects to move to next stage, presented critical and quality datasets in cross functional meetings. I collaborated with cross-team and across different therapeutic areas, supported with relevant data and literature findings to make key decisions on a number of the assets.
Apart from my strong scientific background in Immunology/IO/biomarker discovery, I am also interested in learning about the later stages of drug discovery, specifically in the field of Clinical research. To get a flavor of the clinical side of drug development, I completed a Certificate course in Clinical Research (CCCR) by Apollo research and Innovations.
· In AbbVie IO group, I am involved in establishing MOA and target validation of immune-oncology assets. Developed and designed experiments to identify new targets
· Involved with number of internal very novel targets; implementation, planning and execution of key set of experiments.
· Worked closely with translational team, proteomics team, assay development team for screening, implementation of crucial fundamental assays.
· Lead phospho-proteomics efforts with proteomics group for one of Abbvie assets to identify pathways, ligand for the novel IO target.
· Working cross functionally with translational team by providing essential input and data to ensure implementation of a biomarker plan.
· Collaborate with in vivo Pharmacology team to design and implementation of in vivo assay to find out cellular level deeper understanding of effect of a drug in murine animal model
· Proficiency and understanding in a wide range of laboratory techniques- cell culture, cell transfection, Immunoassays (ELISA, MLR, single cell RNA sequencing, bulk RNA seq, cytotoxicity assay, MSD, Luminex etc), cellular/functional ex-vivo assays.
· Multicolor flow cytometry – design and efficiently analyze data using different software’s, and present data in timely manner crucial for decision making.
· Supported the project team by providing scientific reports, clear and concise summaries of the data to come to drive the key projects towards right direction.
· Evaluate scientific literature critically to facilitate novel research
· Proactively support the team by being a team player and foster strong cross-team and cross functional collaboration
