Primary job responsibilities include managing multiple patients both with serious and non-serious illnesses and injuries including heart attacks, stroke, motor vehicle accidents, severe infections, and pneumonia, and performing assessments, diagnostic procedures, and medical treatments as needed to resuscitate or stabilize patients and refer them to the appropriate medical departments.

  • Children’s hospital of Michigan (Inpatient Pediatrics) – Managed diverse pathology ranging from failure to thrive, nephrotic syndrome, Down’s syndrome, asthma exacerbations, pyelonephritis.
  • Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital – Treated patients with alcohol addiction, opioid (heroin addiction), benzodiazepine addiction, managing withdrawals and then preventing relapse.
  • Henry Ford Medical Center, Fairlane (ER) - Treated pediatric and adult patients in ER. Varied pathology includes DKA, asthma exacerbation, cyclic vomiting syndrome, pancreatitis, COPD exacerbations, seizures, CHF exacerbation.
  • Henry Ford Hospital Emergency department, Detroit (Level 1 Trauma center) - Treated patients with varied pathologies viz. Altered mental status, Acute on chronic hypoxemic respiratory failure, Acute blood loss anemia secondary to GI bleed, End stage chronic liver disease, cirrhosis.
  • Proactively collaborated with other teams like GI, Nephrology, Palliative and Hospice teams for patient care.


Outpatient

  • Henry Ford Medical Center, Harbor Town - Managed routine wellness visits to teenager health issues like anxiety, depression, bipolar, body image, immunization, contraception, STI screening.
  • Counseled patients on birth control methods and prevention of diseases such as cervical, colon and breast cancer.
  • Treated and managed LGBTQ patients on hormonal therapy and mood issues.
  • Geriatric population care – Developed treatment plans for patients with chronic conditions like hypertension, diabetes, congestive heart failure, hyperlipidemia.
