Expert in Microsoft Office and event management, I significantly enhanced office efficiency, embodying professionalism and adaptability in high-stakes environments.
A friend of mine that worked for Lafourche Parish Government approached me that one of their clerks had suddenly passed away and someone was needed right away to replace her. He told me with my background that I would be a perfect fit for this position because he knew I was much more qualified than what the position required. I was a very self-motivated and take-charge kind of person; this is what was needed to replace the position because the parish government is not known to train their employees I took the position and have been there for 7-1/2 years, calling in sick only once. Every year I was evaluated with an Excellent rating. On June 12, 2024, my supervisor and company came into my office and terminated me. No reason given. I am devastated because I was finally at a stage in my life I could give my all to my job with no at-home responsibilities (my children). I loved my job and I thought I was doing everything and more to keep my job, but evidently it was either too much or not enough. The office I was working out of was turning into a predominantly racial-oriented environment and I guess I was just a little bit too white for them. That is all I can come up with at this time for the reason of termination.
I lost a full-term baby girl and when I got pregnant again 4 years later, my husband and I decided that I would stay home and enjoy my long awaited bundle of joy. I did typing out of my house for college students and also resumes for anyone needing a resume. This is what kept me active and up to date with my skills on the computer. Once my daughter graduated high school I was at home with empty nest syndrome.
