Nurse Executive

Cigna
03.2017 - Current

A market-facing position working with Cigna's sales team supporting our clients and responsible for growth and persistence. Responsible for the performance of Accountable Care Organizations and the market total medical cost. Single point of contact for market and network issues that need to be resolved quickly.

  • In collaboration with the Regional Medical Director, we created the first emergency department high-utilizer (EDHU) program in 2018 and was implemented nationally in 2022. Between 2018- 2023, our year-end EDHU beddays stayed between 92/K - 106/K.
  • COVID-19 prompted us to implement a national telehealth program. My role included teaching ASOs, sharing telehealth tools, and assisting providers with claims issues. MDLive was acquired by Cigna in 2021, and NorCal socialized the information. A new service, eConsult, has been launched to better support our network PCPs.
  • Affordability in NorCal has consistently been the highest performer across the country in 2018. NorCal PMPM savings in 2023 were $1.45 or .25% trend deflection. This exceeded our overall savings target of $1.9M by 230% with a yearly savings of $7.3M. NorCal accounted for 50% of the positive variance to West-Region plan, even though it is the most expensive area in the country.
