DISTINCTIONS

While working with the Village of Schaumburg I worked my way up starting as a communications officer, communications training officer and communications shift supervisor. During my career I realized that our dispatcher training was out of date and the training I received allowed me to create and implement a new dispatcher training program. I have worked on projects which included the creation of the new 9-1-1 center and building and their current CAD system. This created a need to educate the police and fire department personnel and other dispatchers on a new system. While I assisted in developing our standards for the new cad system I created a power point presentation to assist in others learning about the software and its uses. During my career there I have created a public education team to educate the public and children about 9-1-1 and its uses. This included creating presentations that the public and private schools would allow into their curriculum utilizing lesson plans. The 9-1-1 public education team has been recognized by Motorola and has received grants to purchase supplies to distribute to the public. During my career with Schaumburg, I have been recognized with awards. I was an active member of both NENA and APCO organizations.
