CNA Student
Currently finishing the classroom and lab portion of my CNA program at MC. Having already taken my pre-nursing classes and some experience in a hospital setting, I’ve got a head start in knowing about standard procedure, wheelchair transport, etc. Since CNAs spend a lot of time with patients, I’ve learned more about patient interaction, how to properly approach certain situations, basic patient care, such as helping with daily activities like bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility, monitoring vital signs, report changes in patients' conditions, etc. I’ve learned a lot more about the scope of a CNAs job which is limited compared to a nurse's job but still essential. I hope being certified as a CNA will give me the chance to work in a hospital so I can be prepared when becoming a registered nurse.
Dual Enrollment
I was a dual enrollment student in high school. I completed most of my pre-nursing classes during this time. Being a part of this program allowed me to challenge myself when taking classes as I was now taking rigorous classes that would prepare me for when I started university.
