The Global Hunger Project

The Hunger Project (THP) is an international, not-for-profit organization that partners with the world’s most vulnerable populations across Africa, India, Bangladesh and Mexico as they work to end their own poverty and hunger. Millions of people are living lives of self-reliance and dignity and the impact is transformational.

  • Member of the US Fundraising Team and manage a portfolio of 75-100 investors. Work in close collaboration with the USFR team members and cross-functional teams to cultivate partnerships and funding opportunities with major funding investors, including high-wealth individuals, corporations, cause-related marketing organizations and family-foundations.
  • Lead development strategies and team sales using the "For Impact" fundraising framework, an investor-centric approach that is wedded in forging a human connection, sharing the story and impact, and presenting the opportunity - each investor with its own unique strategy. I am an exceptional storyteller with a portfolio that demonstrates my ability to create compelling and high-impact content.
  • Design highly customized stewardship and growth opportunities for investors including proposed partnership overviews and activation ideas, proposals and cause-related marketing agreements. Creatively leverage the unique assets of THP including Board Members, President and CEO, Program Country Leaders and global investors trips to maximize growth.
  • Work closely with the External Relations Team (eg. digital and social-media) and the Events Team to leverage in-person and virtual events and campaigns to support fundraising goals.
  • Utilize Salesforce CRM as a pipeline management tool to ensure all interactions, proposals and gifts are organized and recorded.
  • Drive efforts to identify, qualify and cultivate potential major gift prospects through existing investor networks (Champions), research and networking to expand the investor base.

The Riverside Park Conservancy works in Partnership with the City of New York to restore, maintain and improve Riverside Park, a six-mile waterfront on the west side of Manhattan.

  • As Campaign Officer, I worked with the President and Chief Operating Officer on all aspects of development, including fundraising, event management and raising the profile of the Conservancy. In collaboration with the development team, I directed and executed the 2018 Annual Fundraising Gala, the Conservancy's largest fundraiser of the year.

Member of the Senior Management Team responsible for marketing, communications and fundraising.

  • Developed a global strategic marketing and communications practice to promote FSVC's mission and drive program and fundraising initiatives. Frequently made presentations to the Board of Directors on initiatives, progress and impact.
  • Designed a series of collateral materials to increase awareness of the FSVC brand across a wide variety of audiences and multiple platforms. Materials were used in a year-end fundraising campaign resulting in a 30% increase in private funds in the first year.
  • Implemented a public relations campaign that generated international and national press coverage of the organization's impact. Led the design, development and launch of a new website targeted to a broad spectrum of audiences including volunteers, overseas counterparts and donors.
  • The Financial Services Volunteer Corps (FSVC) is an international, non-profit organization founded by John C. Whitehead that assists developing and emerging market countries to build sounds financial systems.

Member of the Senior Management Team responsible for all fundraising for the NRCC, one of four national party committees. Directed the Finance Department and had the privilege of leading and mentoring a staff of 15 professionals. Raised more than $200 million, setting a national standard.

  • Developed and implemented a Finance Plan and Fundraising Program for two election cycles (4 years). Researched and analyzed fundraising trends, forecasted budgets, established fundraising goals and executed fundraising strategies raising more than $200 million.
  • Served as the liaison with The White House and Congress, and worked with major donors from around the country, corporate and political action community, fundraising and event consultants and marketing firms to implement fundraising strategies and achieve stated goals.
  • Directed and managed all major donor events in Washington, DC and around the country. In cooperation with the Finance Director at the NRSC, oversaw and managed the annual President's Dinner, Washington, DC's largest fundraiser attended by the President of the United States, Members of Congress and over 5,500 donors and supporters from around the country. Event raised a record $15 million for the NRCC.

Vice President for Government Relations and External Affairs

The Lower Manhattan Development Corporation

Appointed by Governor George E. Pataki to The Lower Manhattan Development Corporation, the agency created in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001 attacks to rebuild the World Trade Center Site and revitalize Lower Manhattan. Member of the Senior Management Team charged with directing the public planning process for the redevelopment of the World Trade Center Site and the revitalization of Lower Manhattan.

  • Managed all external relationships for the LMDC and served as the primary liaison with federal, state and city government officials. Created a public-facing Public Outreach Plan that involved national and international key stakeholder groups and audiences to ensure maximum participation and input in the future of The World Trade Center Site. Created a series of Advisory Councils comprised of key stakeholder groups including community organizations, non-profit groups, Lower Manhattan residents and business, and families who lost loved ones in the attack.
  • Provided briefings to the Board of Directors at high-profile public Board Meetings covered by print and electronic media. Spoke at multiple highly visible public environments including community events and public hearings. Managed over 25 public hearings in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area, including "Listening to the City" public meeting at the Jacob Javits Center attended by more than 5,000 participants.
  • Developed a series of communication, marketing and public outreach programs to ensure national and international participation in the selection of the World Trade Center site plan and redevelopment. Supervised the collection, tabulation and analysis of all public responses and authored reports and presentations for the LMDC Board of Directors, LMDC Planning and Memorial Departments and the public. A Master Plan for the World Trade Center Site was selected in February 2003 based on the public's input.

  • Served as the Governor's Special Assistant and liaison to members of the New York State Assembly and provided legislative and policy advice to the Governor and Senior Staff.
  • As Senior Program Director I advised the Governor and Senior Staff on policy and program issues for the following cabinet level agencies: The New York State Banking Department, The New York State Insurance Department, Empire State Development Corporation, The New York State Council on the Arts and The Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.
  • Oversaw the development of agency budgets and legislative proposals, and negotiated legislation with members of the New York State Legislature and industry organizations.
  • Appointed by the Governor to serve as the state's representative and project lead to bring the 2002 United States Open Championship to the Black Course at Bethpage State Park, in Farmingdale, NY. making history. This was the first time the US Open was played at a publicly owned golf course. Worked closely with the President of the United States Golf Association and his staff and New York State Parks on all aspects of planning this historic event. This event was called "The People's Open" because anyone could play the Black Course you did not need club membership to play on.
