Demonstrates knowledge of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and supplies needed for surgical cases. Maintains highest standard of sterile technique before, during,and after procedures. Properly care for and label all specimens. Ability to anticipate the needs of the surgeon(s) in an effort to make case as efficient as possible. Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to operation and at each layer of closure. Precepts new hires,students,sit on departmental interview panels and give in service to staff as part of continuing education initiatives. Maintains preference cards, orders supplies, contact reps and vendors as needed, order suture, and create sets according to surgeon's preference and/or procedures. Perform other duties as assigned.
