Accomplishments

  • I have managed to co-ordinate the identification, enrollment, and provision of essential services (Educational, Livelihoods, Psychosocial Support; Legal Support; Health & Environmental Services) to participants enrolled into the USAID funded Sustaining Care and Support Services for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) Program in Kwekwe district reaching a 10% enrollment target within 2 weeks in an OVC new district.
  • Successfully, introduced Result Based Financing model in paediatric ART across the 17-district resulting in the interventions being scaled up under the comprehensive Expanded-IMPACT program which tested 460,242 children and linked 10,904 HIV-positive children to antiretroviral therapy (ART). In all, EIP increased pediatric ART coverage from 42% to 99% in 17 districts of Zimbabwe in 2014-2017
  • As The Health Coordinator with Merlin, I lead the establishment of up to 55 (ORPs) Oral Rehydration Points where patients with cholera were assessed. Priority cases were referred to cholera treatment centers. Each ORP was treating up to 50 patients a day, as well as provide health education sessions for communities to reduce the risk of further contamination. Affected areas include Harare, the capital, and the rural northern provinces of the country.
  • Designed and implemented the Result Based Management model in the DREAMS (Determined, Resilient, Empowered, AIDS-Free, Mentored, and Safe) project focusing on strengthening the Gender Based Violence response by the police.
