Community Service

  • Children's Health Plano (45 hours)

I was nominated and accepted into the first year of the VolunTEEN program at the Children's Health Hospital, where I volunteered in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). There, I comforted children waking up from their procedures by providing them with stuffed animals, giving them their favorite drinks, making blankets, organizing the toy station, sanitizing the nurses station and bays, etc. \

  • Health Occupation Students of America (32 hours)

I obtained these hours through sending letters to healthcare professionals and women's shelters, participating in the "Out of the Darkness" walk, suicide prevention week, "HOPE week", Autism Awareness, donating to nursing homes, creating a health campaign video for kids during the pandemic, etc.

  • Black Student Union (5 hours)

My school's Black Student Union created posters to display across the school for Black History Month

  • Relay for Life (6 hours)

I spent the day decorating the field, creating balloon stands, getting equipment, and setting up for Relay for Life. This is a fundraiser that is held at my school every year to raise money and awareness for cancer.

  • Spanish Honor Society (1 hour)

I designed stickers for the club to use for the gift bags for Relay for Life.

  • Key Club (3 hours)

I organized and hosted a bingo event at a local nursing home called Settler's Ridge (2)

  • LWISD Guest Reading

During Covid, I read a few of my favorite books from my childhood to elementary students of Lewisville ISD through a Zoom call.

  • Carter Blood Drive (8 hours)

I obtained these hours by working the blood drive and donating blood.

  • Environmental Club (4 hours)

These hours were obtained by creating recycling bins and placing them around the school while picking up any trash we found along the way.
