Night Auditing Manager

Marriott Vacations Worldwide
Hilton Head Island, SC
04.2025 - Current
  • As the Night Auditing Manager overseeing a minimum of eight vacation clubs on beautiful Hilton Head Island, my role is far more dynamic than most people imagine. Working five or more nights a week, I serve as the Manager on Duty (MOD), ensuring that every guest's vacation dream becomes a reality — no matter what hour of the night. The scope of my responsibilities spans every department within our properties. From engineering and housekeeping to safety, security, food, and fun, I am the central point of contact when challenges arise after hours. My nights include checking in late arrivals with a warm welcome, managing early departures, handling reservation adjustments, and resolving guest requests promptly and professionally. I monitor security cameras, conduct property walkthroughs to secure the premises, and manage emergency situations with composure and efficiency. Proficiency in Property Management Systems (PMS), strong numerical aptitude, outstanding customer service, and skilled conflict resolution are not optional — they are essential tools I rely on every single shift to keep operations running seamlessly across all eight clubs. Among all my responsibilities, reconciling credit card transactions stands as the most critical financial task of my shift. Each night, I meticulously balance cash drawers, verify credit card batches, investigate discrepancies, and prepare comprehensive end-of-day reports that leadership depends on for accurate financial decision-making. A single unresolved discrepancy can snowball into larger accounting issues, guest disputes, or compliance concerns. By ensuring every transaction is accounted for and properly documented, I protect both our guests and our organization's financial integrity. This process demands sharp numerical skills, unwavering attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of our financial systems — skills I bring to every shift. The role of a Night Auditing Manager is the quiet backbone of hospitality operations. While guests sleep soundly, we work diligently behind the scenes to ensure their experience remains flawless from check-in to check-out. It is a responsibility I take great pride in every night.
