Task executed on a daily basis included completing the inpatient admission process, administering medications accurately in a timely manner, and responding to any signs of decline in the patient's health. I also managed and assessed central lines, foley catheters, G-tubes, NG- tubes, and tracheostomies. Other duties I took on were charge nurse and new nurse preceptor.
My responsibilities at Northwestern Memorial Hospital included distributing medications, completing patient's physical assessments, communicating with other members of the healthcare team, and responding to emergent situations. My daily task involved utilizing hospital protocols to maintain patient safety. I also referred to my nursing knowledge base to educate patients.
At Advocate Trinity Hospital I worked on a contact isolation medical surgical unit. My daily responsibilities included completing head to toe assessments of my patients, admitting new patients to the unit, evaluating my patient's mobility status, distributing scheduled medications, and monitoring the patient's vital signs and laboratory results. The position I held also required that I communicate with physicians and other members of the healthcare team such as physical therapist, speech therapist, and imaging technicians.
