Summary
Teaching in special education has been equally heart breaking and rewarding. Though I have taught in several different ages and environments, no assignment has caused more growth in my teaching skills development. After several years, I have learned through the last two that no teacher is truly a veteran. Each child is different with unique needs and an individual background. Teaching is more than TEKS being delivered to a child. Teaching is meeting the needs of a child beyond an TEK we have planned. Teaching is balancing love with routine and standards.

- I have been at Siebert for many years. I worked as a first grade teacher, a fourth grade science teacher, fourth grade math small groups intervention, and am currently a special education teacher. I truly have enjoyed the instruction the special education. The progress is very different. Yet, the progress of seeing a child read CVC words for the first time, giddy with excitement, is amazing.
