- As a Crew Leader in water distribution i was responsible for supervising a crew of personnel in the maintenance and repair of the water distribution system. This includes operating heavy equipment, installing, repairing, or replacing water meters, services and mains as well as inspecting and fixing distribution valves, large critical valves and PRV valves. This role also involves coordinating projects and responding to after-hours emergencies. The position required knowledge of water system distribution installation, repair, and maintenance procedures, as well as the location of water mains, valves, fire hydrants, and services. Also knowledge of trouble shooting and repairing valves in a timely matter to ensure customers were not out of service for extended periods. In this position I also completed red line drawings, engineering meetings and data correction. I was responsible for building and establishing a schedule, route and program on how to efficiently and productively perform preventive maintenance and repairs on PRV'S in the system. I have extensive knowledge of different water line components and needs to maintain proper flow, fire protection and ease of service in water lines.
