Work History
Assistant Director of Supply Chain
MountainView Hospital (HCA)
03.2024 - Current
Lead all Supply Chain operations at a Level III Trauma Center (489 beds, 3 Free-Standing EDs), including budget management, P&L accountability, and infrastructure projects.
Directly manage 15 FTEs overseeing equipment coordination, procedural areas (Cath Lab, IR), and point-of-use room supply systems.
Oversee OR and Surgical Services supply chain operations, partnering with clinical and physician leadership to optimize inventory, replenishment, and utilization.
Drive supply improvement initiatives (SII), cost reduction programs, and standardization efforts (SMART cleanup, master file, EDI, MIS data integrity).
Develop and report supply chain performance metrics and financial outcomes to senior leadership, ensuring cost savings, compliance, and operational excellence.
Notable Achievements:
Inventory Reduction: Led a successful inventory reduction initiative throughout all hospital departments, eliminating low-usage items and cutting supply inventory by $2.5 million within a 7-month period, contributing to cost savings and improved inventory efficiency.
Purewick Usage Reduction: Implemented a successful initiative to reduce the use of purewick devices across the facility, which led to a significant $500k reduction in costs over 6 months. In addition to cost savings, this initiative positively impacted patient care by increasing ambulatory time and promoting alternative care techniques. As a result, patients experienced improved outcomes, including higher discharge rates and decreased incidence of sores and infections.
Mitigation of National IV Fluid Shortage: Successfully spearheaded efforts to mitigate the impact of a nationwide IV Fluid shortage by developing and implementing unit-specific IV Fluid allocation protocols to optimize resource utilization. Additionally, I coordinated cross-departmental communication and collaborated with supply chain partners to secure alternative sourcing solutions. By doing so, the facility maintained operational continuity and minimized clinical disruptions to patient care in a high-acuity, high-volume environment.
BMT Expansion Project: Assisted in the placement, coordination of procurement, and the timely acquisition of capital orders totaling approximately $2 million to support the expansion of MountainView Hospital's Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) program. This expanded the hospital’s capacity to deliver life-saving treatments, directly supporting increased patient care quality and operational efficiency, and resulted in our facility becoming the first in the state of Nevada to offer Bone Marrow Transplant therapy.
Free Standing ED- Skye Hills: Assisted in developing MountainView’s new Free-Standing Emergency Department (FSED) at Skye Hills (12 Exam Rooms), including creating par levels and facilitating timely deliveries of critical equipment and supplies.
Pulsed Field Ablation (PFA): Assisted in introducing, coordinating, and supplying PFA to MountainView Cath Lab, resulting in the facility becoming the first in Nevada to utilize the device. Since the introduction, we average 15 PFA cases a week, decreasing our average procedure times and allowing for increased case-loads (increase from an average of 15 scheduled cases/day to an average of 22 cases/day).
RFID Implementation: Led the deployment of RFID tagging and scanning across procedural areas (Cath Lab, IR, Surgical Services), improving inventory visibility and control. The initiative reduced waste by enabling real-time oversight of expirations, quantities, and supply locations, driving cost savings and operational efficiency.
