Accomplishments

    2013 September Citizen of the Month (Citizen of Chesapeake). Given for his work in coordinating the Chesapeake Christian Music Festival to facilitate support for Nelly's House, a lunch program for underserved school aged children in Haiti. Taylor continues to support this organization that feeds over 5,000 children and staff in 22 schools in southwest Haiti.


    2020 "Pride of The Peake Award" - given to a Community Leader in the City of Chesapeake to recognize and honor the hard work of individuals throughout the community that embody the goals of Chesapeake Public Schools. Taylor continues to support local school aged students providing community support and funding the Merchant Marine Program to offer career opportunities in the maritime industry.



Bank Board Director (Vice-Chairman)

From 2016 - Present, Taylor has served on the Towne Financial Services Board of Directors that oversees all lines of business other than bank related business including Towne Insurance, Towne Benefits, TowneBank Mortgage, Towne Wealth Management, Towne Vacations, and RW Towne Realty. Taylor also serves as Vice-Chairman on the TowneBank Chesapeake Regional Board of Directors. (TOWN)

As a Co-Founder of Monarch Bank in 1999, Taylor served on the Executive Board of Directors until 2016. He served on the Audit Committee, Loan Committee, and Acquisitions Committee. In 2016, Monarch Bank was sold to Towne Bank. At the time of sale, Monarch Bank had $1.2 Billion in assets.(MNRK)
