As a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Specialist, I protect the country against the threat of CBRN weapons of mass destruction, and decontaminate hazardous material spills or accidents. I am able to employ the most advanced equipment and coordinate defense systems against these weapons of mass destruction in support of joint and combined arms operations.

I served as a Platoon Sergeant for a Mounted Reconnaissance Platoon in a company that was geographically dispersed from the direct reporting battalion. We were responsible for planning and conducting CBRN reconnaissance and surveillance for an assigned area of operations during ground large scale combat operations. We had 32 pieces of detection equipment that valued over 35 million dollars. I also was the supervisor for 18 Soldiers.

Performs duties as a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN) advance individual training (AIT) Drill Sergeant in 1 of only 2 CBRN AIT companies in the Army; responsible for the discipline, morale, health and welfare of 60-120 Soldiers during a 10-week training cycle; serves as a role model and leads Soldiers through the Soldierization process; provides instruction and training on the Army Values, Physical Readiness Training, Drills and Ceremonies; reinforces 74D10-level task training; inspects facilities and Soldiers to ensure compliance with regulations through performance counseling and mentorship.

Serves as a the Battalion Chemical, Biological ,Radiological, and Nuclear Defense (CBRN) Sergeant in Headquarters and Headquarters Company (HHC) in a General Support Aviation Battalion; assists and advises the Senior Aviation Operations Sergeant in all facets of CBRN Operations; supervises and coordinates schools reservations and slotting for over 650 Soldiers and Officers in the Battalion; provides technical and tactical guidance in the job performance and ensures subordinates are proficient in their MOS skills necessary for combat operations; responsible for the leadership, health, welfare and professional development for one NCO and 2 Soldiers; serves as NCOIC for CBRN Operations and responsible for the CBRN equipment valued in the excess of two hundred thousand dollars.

Served as an assistant Team Leader in a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN) mounted reconnaissance team in direct support of 2nd Infantry Division with a peninsula specific contingency mission; assisted in the planning, execution and supervision of CBRN reconnaissance utilizing mounted techniques; provided critical Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance to commanders by detecting, identifying, marking, reporting and collecting samples of CBRN evidence; responsible for the health, morale, training and welfare of three junior enlisted Soldiers; responsible for accountability, maintenance and readiness of two M1135 NBCRVs valued in excess of 14 million.
