Work History

Certified Athletic Trainer

  • As a certified athletic trainer to minor children, it is crucial to communicate diagnoses and prognoses with coaching staff and parents to ensure the child athlete's safety. I was responsible for coordinating the transfer of care with emergency medical services and providing prompt and accurate diagnoses to expedite medical care.
  • I have worked diligently to develop strong relationships with local healthcare providers in order to streamline referral processes when advanced medical intervention was required. For non-emergent injuries, I developed rehabilitation programs and thoroughly documented evaluations and treatments to track athletes' progress and monitor return-to-play status. I oversaw the implementation of concussion management protocols to safeguard the long-term health of athletes following head injuries.
  • Prior to participation in sports, all athletes are required to undergo a physical examination. This was conducted as a comprehensive preseason screening in order to identify potential risk factors and address them proactively.
  • In order to keep compliant with National Athletic Training Association guidelines, as well as state licensure requirements, I have stayed current with advances in athletic training research by attending professional conferences and workshops regularly.
  • As a leader of young student athletes, I focused on fostering a positive team atmosphere by supporting the athletes both on and off the field, promoting camaraderie and overall wellbeing.
  • Being a mentor of the student athletic training program, I was responsible for managing the students' schedules to allow participate in the program without interfering with school work, as well as delegating roles and responsibilities to instill a sense of responsibility and accountability. The students learned to communicated with the coaching staff and effectively render basic first aid, rehabilitation, and preventative taping techniques.
  • It was my responsibility to maintain inventory of athletic training room supplies, and complete purchase orders for new materials as needed, while adhering to budgetary guidelines.

I prided myself on establishing a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fostered open communication, critical thinking, and collaboration among students.

In conjunction with my athletic training license and certification, I was also responsible for participating in pedagogical professional development to stay current on the latest trends and research in health science education.
